Your son is about to celebrate his Bar Mitzvah,
an important milestone in any boy’s life,
and you are trying to decide what kind of event you would like to have –
an historical and spiritual one at the Western wall or unique and picturesque in Zefat?
We are here to help you celebrate your son’s Bar Mitzvah in Israel in style and in the best way possible,
so it will be an unforgettable event for you and your guests.
The Western Wall – An Unforgettable Event
Celebrating your son’s Bar Mitzvah at the Western Wall has a unique aura to it,
due to the importance of the Western Wall to the entire Jewish people.
An event at the Western Wall binds the hearts of your family and friends to the historical spirit of this holy city and this holy place,
its ancient stories of fierce battles and successes alongside years of tears shed and prayers called out at the Western Wall.
Reading the Torah next to the Great Western Wall,
the celebrations and everything that surrounds the Bar Mitzvah turns it into a spiritual,
powerful and unforgettable event.
What do you need to do?
Nothing really.
The Western Wall Heritage Foundation will take care of the cantor who will be escorting your son throughout the reading of the Torah, in any language you choose, free of charge.
We are here to help you plan the entire event, from the transportation that will get your guests to the Western Wall,
through a fun musical parade and interesting tours in sites nearby,
photographers who will capture all these memorable moments and a great restaurant to end the event on a full stomach.
What do you need to know?
There are a few points that you should consider when celebrating at the Western Wall:
- These free-of-charge events are extremely popular so it is best to book a date well in advance with The Western Wall Heritage Foundation, with a limitation to Mondays and Thursdays.
- Due to the safety checks and the numerous visitors arriving to the Western Wall every day, by car, public transportation or by foot, you need to take into consideration delays in arriving to the Western Wall.
- The many tourists and worshipers arriving to the Western Wall to pray or just put a note between the holy stones may make your celebration a bit crowded.
- Modest attire, the separation between man and women are a must and bringing Torah books from outside is not allowed.
- How Religious Communities Preserve Heritage Through Clothing
- שלושה דברים לדעת כשעורכים בר מצווה בכותל.
- Live music for events in Israel – everything you needs to know

Zefat – Inviting and Picturesque
Zefat – Inviting and Picturesque
Zefat has its own unique place in the history of the Jewish people, but unlike the Western Wall, it is lighter, more available and welcoming.
What do you need to do?
Here too, you can just set the date and relax.
We can help you plan the entire event, from the transportation that will get your guests to Zefat,
through a parade of Darbuka drummers and a cantor that will assist with the reading of the Torah,
photographers who will leave you with some great souvenirs of the event and a festive meal at the end of the event,
in one of Zefat’s finest restaurants.
For a more personal and memorable experience,
guided tours can be arranged in the picturesque alleys of the ancient city,
unique workshops combining religion and tradition and reading at the ancient synagogue of Zefat.
What do you need to know?
Note that for guests coming by private cars, and even for those coming with your transportation,
the way there may be quite exhausting as Zefat is located up north.
Another point to consider is the small number of restaurants and places to tour in Zefat, in comparison to Jerusalem.
On the other hand, you may feel safer in Zefat than in Jerusalem.
Now it is up to you to decide where you want us to plan your event – The Western Wall or Zefat.
